Today’s companies are increasingly aware of the importance of soft skills and are keen to invest in them. PwC report What’s on the mind of CEOs in Central and Eastern Europe”, shows that 90% of CEOs say organisations should learn soft skills. Some of the fastest growing roles (sales, customer service, UX) rely heavily on soft skills. The VUCA environment (volatility, uncertainty, complexity and ambiguity) in which most companies now operate is another challenge causing an increased need for soft skills development.
The foundation of soft skills is emotional intelligence (IE). TalentSmart analysed IE along with 33 other important workplace skills and found that:
“Of all the people we surveyed at work, we found that 90% of the best employees also had high levels of emotional intelligence,” – says Dr Travis Bradberry.
